MUSIC!! well simply can't imagine my life without it, actually it's my first non-music forum I'm on, cause music is a one of the biggest passions of mine (greater than films' world to me) - I love british rock, from the Beatles, through Rolling Stones, Bowie, Joy Division, The Smiths, Stone Roses - LOVING THE 90's the most however - Oasis (which is the musical love of my life!), The Verve, Suede, Radiohead, PULP!!, Manic Street Preachers, Travis! - ending with indie scene and the like - The Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian hm and most of today's bands (greatest for the party) --> www.last.fm/user/Digs333 (yes I admit to be totally addicted to this site - and btw. I've found an Owen's group there - and imagine! there was only ONE!!! member!) I also love soundtracks (Pride and Prejudice, Amelie), Yann Tiersen's work, I love some hindu tunes from Bollywood, many alternative bands around the world and what else... eh that's pretty much about it really Music is the life. Definitely

They looked sexy as hell, and the fans were crazy. I can't wait for the new album and tour. Though i doubt they would ever come to the UK. If they did. I AM SO THERE. Poor Jon though, still quiet in the background I am off to watch my New Kids cartoons and concerts (yeah i kept everything!!!!!!!!)

Poor Jon though, still quiet in the background I am off to watch my New Kids cartoons and concerts (yeah i kept everything!!!!!!!!) They might come to the UK, BSB are getting bigger crowds in Europe and elsewhere overseas than they are in the US, selling out some venues, NKOTB could be similar... there seems to be a real resurgence (sp?) or spate of comebacks from many 'boy bands' (embarrassing title but oh well lol) here, so it seems there's a market for it and if the record label trusts there's money to be made then they'll do it because its all about the money (for the people in suits) *blah* thats what I've learnt over the years lol if its possible to schedule and it'll sell well then it should be a go'er, so you never know! its funny the difference though, BSB still havent announced the official US tour and arent able to play such large venues, more small arenas and state fairs but they sell out stadiums abroad... I remember NKOTB were v. popular here before though! I remember I saw was it Danny, who was in Upper Street. I thought they seemed pretty good, it was a shame that never really took off... blooming Jonathan Shallit! idiot! but anyway its cool the group is back together again, people on the BSB forum are pretty psyched about it (sorry I cant resist comparing the two groups, there is a link (the guy who started BSB was related to the people who managed New Kids and wanted to replicate it) but I can yak about BSB for forever lol ill shaddap)

Just heard the Beach Boys' 'KOKOMO'. Though I cant put the vid, i can give 3 reasons why you should check it out: a. Really nice, hawaiian lluau kind of music. b. Its from Cocktail-OST i.e. lots of Tom Cruise. c. My 2nd most fave man, John Stamos plays the drums for the BB!

It's a shame Brian Wilson doesn't play on "Kokomo." Very nice song, glad you like it, SP. I'm a BB fan from way back.
I've been buying a lot of old CD's (from the 1980's) lately from Amazon used products. Stuff like Best of Paul Davis, Best of Styx, Ambrosia, etc.

Was Brian Wilson the drummer? Then honestly, I'm not sure i regret his absence.
Btw, I read in the papers that Barry and Robin are planning a comeback. Of course, they may not wanna use the title, Bee Gees.

Actually, now that think of it, I'm not sure which instrument Brian played: either guitar or drums - or both - at different times.
Oh, I didn't know that about Barry & Robin. I had read they weren't going to do anything anymore as the "Bee Gees" as that name has been put to rest. They must be appearing as themselves. 'Course, they've lost their trademark three-part harmony so it will be interesting to hear what they sound like now. Without Maurice, I wonder if they'll be performing all new material that they've written since Maurice's death. Whatever, apparently Barry & Robin have buried the hatchet as they'd been feuding again a year or so ago. Glad to know the issue must have been resolved. Barry & Robin had a huge falling out back in 1969 or 1970 which split up the band for a year or so. Maurice had sort of been the "glue" that brought them back together and kept them together so I'm glad they've been able to resolve issues even in his absence.

My pal says it was Maurice who had the high pitch 'Staying Alive' voice. I dunno. Its the unique sound that they created together, as a trio that makes 'em so special. Maybe its the fact that Maurice is not there that brought them together?

I don't know which had the higher voice. All three of them were capable of pretty high pitches, but it could be true about Maurice.
It's very possible Barry & Robin made peace with each other for Maurice's sake. I'm sure they considered how terrible they'd feel if something were to happen to one of them and they were still feuding.
