Omgess, Oh thank goodness you posted a follow-up. I was feeling so excited & happy for you all day Monday, thinking about where you were and what you were doing at every moment throughout the day! I've been sitting on pins & needles to hear how everything went! So you met Owen, and you're going to meet him again re: your revision? Though they had suggestions for your script, it sounds like a most successful trip to me! If they hadn't considered your script worthwhile, they never would have given it the time of day. So big CONGRATULATIONS are in order!!! CELEBRATE!! and WELCOME HOME

So when do WE, your support group, get a synopsis of the script? I’m soooooooo curious!

When it hits the big screen! LOL Hey, we can start a omgess site too...lol! No sibling actors or writers...sorry (I have 3 married brothers though). I am writing under a different name...not my real one either ofcourse... you know me and privacy! To save money I should act in it too but, we'll see. Hey maybe we all will be in it... My goal: Have O ask for our autographs someday!!! And make him quiver in his boots!!! (not necessarily due to nervousness...lol).

Don't forget to invite us to the after party or is it the cast party. Oh well, I don't care what you call it just make sure you invite us to some kind of party.

If we can't get synopsis of the script, how 'bout the meeting?
As a grad student in journalism, there is lots of cross-over w/ other areas of writing and I'd love to know how your meeting went vs. what I hear/read about.
Are you a member of WGA? They always push that so much in lecture & I wonder if it's really needed.
Thanks!

You are an inspiration. I wanted to make a script for either a broadway play/musical or a movie just for fun this summer, since I get a whole 2 weeks off! I don't even know what I'm going to do with that kind of time! Could you tell us what sources (like books or classes) if anything helped you write the script? I have absolutely no idea where to begin!

Kelley: Storyview screenwriting software is a good tool to get you organized and give structure to your screenplay. Its great for character organization, sequencing, dialog and gives a timeline to help editing your components. It even puts in correct format and estimates scene time. A little tough to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, you'll love it! You can spend your time on your creativity instead of the technicalities. Good luck!

Hey, You guys are great for info. We all seem to have writing fetishes...hmmm a common Owen thread? Listen, this whole experience was VERY atypical. I am not American and have no formal training. I do not recommend anyone sends a celebrity their scripts but rather takes the appropriate routes. They rarely have time to read even one page fan letters, let alone an entire script. Try scriptwriter.com for more info. There are a lot of different sites. There is info. on analysis right there too. I plan on working on the areas they suggested and resubmitting, but this time in Vancouver ASAP. The meeting consisted of a 'run-through' of the script, meaning different 'actors' spoke the lines...no real acting out or stage direction. Work was focussed on character development, dialogue, the premise of the play, etc.. Nuts and bolts. O was not part of the assessment committee or process and simply passed it on. Kelley, we all have such different experiences, just use those. I'm sure it will envelop the audience if its from the heart.

I plan on working on the areas they suggested and resubmitting, but this time in Vancouver ASAP. One minute you're talking like it's a done deal, the next it's something totally different. Wtf is going on? I'm beginning to think someone is screwing around with us.

Itsano, someone is screwing around with us. omgess, rance, owpal, and afriendofo were all the same person. She was having fights and threatening herself on here. The admins also believe that she made up the meeting Owen in NY story as well, since her story kept changing. We haven't decided yet what to do with her posts, but I would tell everyone to take anything she wrote with a grain of salt.

Okay, so someone played a joke on us. There is a bright spot. ;D Thanks to the answers to the question at the beginning of this thread, we all got great tips from each other about how to prepare for a "special presentation" situation. I proud of the supportive nature of my fellow Wilson fans. THANK YOU to everyone who posted advice. I learned a lot.

Thanks LL - I was suspicious. I thought that admins could see IP's (and cookie info) and was hoping somone would get to the bottom of this.
I had a friend in Jr High that wrote letters to herself from David Lee Roth. It was funny and very sad at the same time.

Yep. No surprise here, either That's why I kept asking about the WGA-just didn't make sense. Did you guys see the Brady Bunch Movie when Jan had her boyfriend "George Glass"? She would have herself paged at the pool and she had this manequin she carried around. Sick but hilarious. I think its a good parallel
