I got this through email and thought you would enjoy it: After the tornado (Greensburg, Ks.) THIS IS SUCH A NEAT STORY .............................................. The story begins with the rescuers finding this poor little guy they named Ralphie. Someone had already taken him under their wing but weren't equipped to adopt; Ralphie, scared and starved, joined his rescuers... I wouldn't think anything could live thru this...but we were wrong. This little lady also survived that wreckage. Here she is just placed in the car - scared, but safe. and then...they are no longer alone! Instant friends, they comforted each other while in the car. Add two more beagles found after that... the more, the merrier! Oh boy, a new traveler to add to the mix... (note: the cat coming over the seat needing shelter...) Now just how is this going to work??? (and remember they are all strange to one another) It's going to work just fine, thank you very much! Wow! The things we learn from our animal friends... If only all of mankind could learn such valuable lessons as this. Lessons of instant friendship. Of peace and harmony by way of respect for one another -- no matter one's color or creed. These animals tell you... "It's just good to be alive and with others." Yes, it surely is. So... Live, love, laugh. "Life's a Gift... Unwrap It!"

FISH STORY A guy who lives at Lake Conroe (50 miles north of Houston) saw a ball bouncing around kind of strange in the lake and went to investigate. It turned out to be a big catfish who had obviously tried to swallow a basketball which became stuck in its mouth!! The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to because the ball would always bring him back up to the surface. The guy tried numerous times to get the ball out, but was unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate it and release the hungry catfish. (You probably wouldn't have believed this, if you hadn't seen the following pictures...)

Those rescue pups and kitties are the sweetest! It seems they sensed the situation and immediately became a pack - dogs and cats!
The catfish is cracking me up! Poor thing - you never see catfish near the surface!

Amazing photos and stories. Thank you for posting them.
It is said 'truth is stranger than fiction,' and that fish story especially proves that statement!

aw, cool stories and photos! Ralphie is v. cute!!
I've used that website for a few years now, I also click on the hunger site, breat cancer site and all the other tabs...
I <3 my families pet dog, called Holly. We got her from a rescue centre/shelter back in August 1995, she's getting on a bit now, has had a few problems this year with arthritis, bad co-ordination in her back legs etc. but she seems to be ok at the moment... her story is that she was found by the Scottish Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, found in a corner of an abandoned building and had 9 puppies. She was really scared of men to start with so we only presume she was mistreated by a man to start with, sad : - ( but she's alot better now of course. She used to be really shy and scared of new people coming to the house as well. She's a 'bitsa' dog because she isn't just one breed but a mix of bits of other breeds lol so we call her our Holly dog lol she never barks either, only sometimes makes low growls when she gets excited like when we play with her and stuff. I guess she got told off for barking when she was a puppy... but its a shame, we got the pet insurance quote and because she's old now, my mum doesn't want to pay it anymore as its too expensive. So we just have to hope she's ok!
