Hey y'all!
I didn't know about this thread until it was recently updated.
I have driven on Farquhar Street. It was last July when I spent a couple of days in Dallas. I did find a house that looks like it might have been the Wilson's boyhood home. For all I know, Robert & Laura might still live there. I was too timid to go to the door and knock. I had a case of sudden paralysis. If a recognizable Wilson had appeared at the door, I wouldn't have had any reason to be there except sheer chutzpah. Anyway, Farquhar Street is definitely upscale but Old Upscale. Not a recent development. You can tell by the tall growth of all the abundant greenery (never seen in new developments) and the styles of the homes. The neighborhood is definitely Old Money and looks like a post-WWII neighborhood. It's very affluent, quiet, and established. Next time I'm there, I'll take photos of that house and have a more knowledgeable person - such as Bunnypanda - post them on the board.
I found Cosmic Cafe on Oak Lawn Street (not too far from Dealey Plaza). It's a great little vegetarian Indian restaurant. I understand this is one of Owen's favorite places in Dallas. I also understand that Kumar owns this restaurant and is where Owen met Kumar. I was starving and went inside for a bite to eat. Wonderful, cozy, carefree atmosphere inside. I had a great dish, and it was very reasonably priced. Can you imagine my excitement knowing that Owen had walked up those same stairs, put his hot sexy paws on that same doorknob, opened the door and sat his hot cute buns in one of those chairs (maybe the one I sat on!!!). He held the same menu in his sexy paws (maybe the one I held!!!) or one just like it and read the same words!!!
I found Owen's other favorite place - Harvey Goff's Charbroiled Burgers on Lovers Lane (yes, there is a Lovers Lane in Dallas!) It's near his old neighborhood of Farquhar Street. But I haven't eaten there yet.
I have watched the bats fly out of the Congress Street Bridge. I didn't think it was scary at all, just really interesting & fun.
I'll be happy to take photos of all these places as soon as I can get to them! In fact, don't be surprised if I get a wild hair up my you-know-what and make a special trip!
