We just got back from "Day After Tomorrow". I love Dennis too, but even his sky-blue eyes and beautiful smile couldn't save this stinker.

Remi- My son saw it last night and thought it was great. Must be the difference between maturity and youthful exuberance. He thought the movie was very "pertinent to his generation and what must be done to take care of the environment." OOOKay kid...glad there was some conscious raising elements here. In any event, he says Dennis is good and trust me Rem- that grin really can save about anything, I wake up next to a duplicate of it every morning... and it saves me!! HurlT

I just came back from "The Day After Tomorrow" too and I thought the movie was good in some parts and bad in other parts. A very corny storyline but it had some originalities...but the ending was not as moving as Armageddon...but the special effects were much better than Armageddon (Mmmm maybe that's taken for granted considering it is much newer...). Dennis was very good in it but I thought he wasn't in it much for a leading role. I thought Jake Gyllenhaal who played his son was rather attractive but it seems he is taken by Kirsten Dunst in real life. Oh Kirsten...I used to like you texgal, Paul Bettany is a VERY good actor, isn't he? I can't believe how good he was in "Dogville".

Agh, haven't seen Dogville yet. I saw Paul Bettany on Larry King Live a few months back. Paul was only one of a handful of actors Larry was interviewing that night, so there wasn't a lot of Paul on the show. Paul's voice is so hot though. He has that awesome deep, classically-trained actor's voice. YEOWWW!

Paul's voice is soooooooooo hot!!!!! I was wondering why his English accent gets me so much when I am surrounded by English accents every day and none of them gets me...it must be the "classically-trained actor's voice" thing like you said!!! Ah I wanted to see him on Larry King Live!!! I like him in interviews because he is funny and...slashy I don't think "Dogville" is out in the US yet actually...PLEASE see it when it comes out!!! He is just too good at acting.

Oh yes, Bunnypanda. What little there was on the show of Paul was soooo good. He was humorous, and his hair looked like he had just rolled out of bed! lol.
Yes, I think it's the training that makes Paul's voice & articulation so distinctive.
HurlT, The Big Easy is what turned me on to Cajun music. Just love it!!!

Rem- that grin really can save about anything That's funny 'cause I kept thinking through the whole movie, Dennis could save ME ANYTIME! There really wasn't enough of him (how could there ever be, though), and only a couple of those wonderful grins of his in this movie. Normally, I have the ability to leave my brain at home and just enjoy a movie. But, even that didn't help. There wasn't anything wrong with the acting, but the story had holes so big you could steer a oil tanker through. And NO laughs, at least not intentional. Oh well, this isn't the place for a movie review... I'll just leave it at this, I felt insulted by the creators of this movie. BTW HurlT, I'm gonna buy you the "Big Easy" for your Birthday (and one for me while I'm at it)!

Ha Ha, I just got back from "The Day After Tomorrow" and I loved it, and I mean LOVED it. So here's to all you haters Just kidding. I have a special affection for all of those end of the world movies though. I thought there were a few expectable things, but overall I really really enjoyed it.

Here's my top 10:
1. Owen Wilson (of course) 2. Keanu Reeves 3. Matthew McConaughey 4. Josh Lucas 5. Michael Vartan 6. Richard Gere 7. Julian McMahon 8. Luke Wilson 9. Shemar Moore 10. Mark-Paul Gosselaar
Honorable mentions go to: Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Brad Pitt (in his current, clean-shaven state), Johnny Depp (only in "Pirates of the Caribbean"), George Clooney, Paul Bettany, Jude Law, Ewan McGregor, John Corbett, Viggo Mortensen, Orlando Bloom, Jet Li, Dylan McDermott, Goran Visnjic, Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jason Patric, Tobey Maguire, Matthew Perry, Jimmy Fallon, Jon Stewart & Kevin Costner (my first adult celeb crush).
In the "I don't get it" category: Ashton Kutcher (wake-up Demi), Justin Timberlake (wake-up Cameron!), the sandy-brown haired guy from "The O.C." (I guess I'm ahead a generation - afterall, there was a time when I thought that Luke Perry & Jason Priestly were hot), Ben Affleck (I get that he's cute - what ruins it is his dim-witted engagement to J-Lo - but hey, we all make mistakes), Nick Lachey (was cuter a few years ago, plus his marriage to Jessica Simpson just makes him seem even more unattractive), and others that don't come to mind at the moment.

TR, How do you not love Ryan (the sandy-haired guy??) in the O.C.?? He's...so hot!

LOL. If the sandy-haired guy is Benjamin MacKenzie (I've since remembered his name) - then that is the guy I'm talking about who I don't think is hot.
My opinion comes mostly from my immediate reaction of him. A few months back, one of the magazines had the Top 10 Hottest Hollywood Bachelors. I was flipping through the list and saw Benjamin MacKenzie was listed as #5 or something. My immediate reaction was to wrinkle my nose in dismay. I didn't see it - and I don't get it (shrugging).
(The magazine redeamed itself though, by having Owen as #3 on the list!)
I don't watch the O.C. - but I am familiar with some of the actors on it (due to watching E! News and Entertainment Tonight). There is one of the younger guys on that show that I think is kind of cute. He has brown hair - but I don't know his name.
Of all of the guys on my "I don't get it list" - none of them make me cringe like that Ashton Kutcher (shaking head). That one, I really, really, really don't get at all! I think of him as the kind of guy I'd pass on the street and wouldn't give any thought to - he'd just blend into the masses unnoticed and not impressing anyone.
Don't forget though - you're talking to a girl who doesn't get the whole "Eli Cash is sexy" thing either. I know you and BP (and others) love him - so it's nice to see O's characters all appreciated in one way or another!!! ;D

Well since this topic just continues to creep up I figured I might as well update my list. I mean it has been like six months or something. While I still adore Owen and he is number one, I have a new number two. Now it might come as a surprise to some of you so brace yourselves. Some of you will fall in the floor with laughter at the thought of anyone thinking him sexy, but I totally drool over Jim Carrey every single time that I see him. I just LOVE that man. He is soooo funny, that I can't think of him as not sexy. I just love funny guys and he is their king.

LL, I think Jim Carrey is hot too! I only wish he hadn't shaved his head. His hair is too nice to be shorn off like that. I really thought he (and his hair) was hot in Liar Liar. I know his humor isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think he is very talented and can do all genres of acting, not just the wild zany stuff that he does so well and with reckless abandon! That scene of Jim in Bruce Almighty with him on his knees in the rain was very poignant, and I'm sure it came from his own imagination.

Oh my texasgal, I love Liar Liar. That is my favorite Jim Carrey movie. I like the more dramatic moments. I loved The Truman Show and The Majestic. I thought that the latter was such a sweet movie. I don't know why it bombed the way it did.
