I found a review of The Big Bounce. I loved what the reviewer had to say about Sara Foster:
A film that leaves you waiting in vain for a single laugh that never comes, it makes eighty-five minutes feel like an eternity. But, with one glaring exception, it has a good cast -- all wasted. The exception is Sara Foster, who is the female lead in the picture. With zero chemistry with her male costar (Owen Wilson, who does the only good acting in the movie), she shows no visible talent. Since the movie wants to be taken as a sexy comedy, her looks aren't much help either since she has a quite unremarkable face, stringy blonde hair and skinny legs.

I hate Reality TV shows. I don’t understand the appeal of them and frankly is scares me a little that so many people seem to enjoy them. MAC, you are definitely on my wave-length, right there! I can't stand Reality TV. I always think "reality, my arse". No one actually acts like that in reality. It's so contrived. They're all a bunch of ridiculous posers. I've practically given up watching TV because everything that is on is supposed "reality" these days. LMAO at that review of Sara Foster.

ok this is the rant thread - I advise you all to take a couple of steps back from your monitor as I am about to do just that! I just had a look on Google for any news on Owen and a lot of articles about the weekend box office results came up. They all contained the line; "Owen Wilson's crime Caper The Big Bounce Bombed". Now everyone knows that when a movie is a success it becomes so many peoples baby - it is liable to have an identity crisis - as everyone clamours for their slice of the credit and when a movie does badly it is an orphan. BUT. How is this "Owen Wilson's"?? If it was a success it would be George Amitages Crime Caper. If it was a success we would be hearing how it is Sebastian Gutierrez's scripted Crime Caper. If it were a success we would be seeing mentions of the Morgan Freeman Gary Sinise and Owen Wilson hit. We would be hearing about the exciting debut of Sara Foster a bright new talent. I just can't see how the **** this is suddenly Owens and no other names are attached . Pardon my language this is a rant! Did Owen write it - no. Did he direct it - no. Did he do a half assed job of editing - no. Did he cast Sara Foster - no. So why when it has not been well received or financially successful is his the name first and foremost linked to the result. Everything I have read suggests he was this movies one and only redeeming feature. He deserves full credit for averting what might have otherwise been a genuine Gigli, with his talent. I know with Starsky and Hutch due for release shortly that his career will not be too damaged by this blip. I guess that is some consolation. Still I think it is unfair for him to be front and center, after all before the movie was released many people were talking about the amazing ensemble cast. Sigh.

I think his name would have been the most prominent either way. He had top billing and was in most of the scenes. In general, his performance received the best reviews, and Armitage and Guiterrez (sp?) didn't. I think the general consensus is that he did the best he could with what he was given. I don't know why Sinise or Jones are on the poster. Their combined screen time is less than 5 minutes. Since Owen's approach to film selection seems to be rather-laid back, I hope he views reviews the same way. I didn't see too many that were anti-Owen. I hope he took away what he came for - $10 mil, working with cool actors, nice weather and a chance to headline. Maybe he views the experience as a success. I fault the production more than I do any of the actors. I think I Spy suffered from the same type of problems. I agree that it is unfair to put his name atop a negative headline, but you gotta take the good w/ the bad and S&H looks like it will more than make up for it. BTW - I'm not anti-Owen. Just giving my honest opinion! You know what they say about opinions

I read the following on Fox News Owen Wilson is proving smirks alone can't get you through a career. He was great in little films like "Minus Man," but this weekend's "Big Bounce" was a big thud at the box office and he needs to rethink some of his script choices. Owen, you're great. This movie wasn't. I’m glad they say he is great! But I just don't think script choices are that clear cut - Minus Man was also a big thud so was Bottle Rocket, money-wise. The initial script for Shanghai Noon wasn’t good. There is a lot of luck in movies and sometimes really good actors and directors make movies that most people don't like. How many good actors have at least one or more movies on their resume that you think "why did they do that?" If it was that easy to pick winners and there were people queued up out of the door offering you brilliant roles in winning films, I don't think Owen would have passed them all by just to go to Hawaii for 10M and headline. (But I could be wrong about that of course!! ) I salute the person who thought Owen would be good with Jackie Chan, that they would have a special chemistry - that person is genius in my opinion because Shanghai Noon though a simple film - really works. I don't know how you pick that, maybe sometimes you have to try something to know if it will have something - maybe sometimes the x factor isn't always in the first draft of the script. Crap movies have been made from good scripts and vice-versa. But yeah. S & H will be good and I hope his future projects will be better received so that he gets the credit he deserves for being great in a great film not the best thing about a bad one.

I think Owen is finally taking a chance. He's doing The Wedding Crashers, which is a romantic comedy & he has said he doesn't think those are right for him & that he didn't want to do one. So someone must have gotten through to him that he needs a change. But I still think the best thing Owen could do for his own career, is go back to writing. He talks about how he has ideas he'd like to write & act in. Boy, sit down & write them. Owen's one of the most talented writers in Hollywood. He needs to focus that talent on his own ideas. It's his originality that attracted Hollywood in the first place.

I agree Itsanowenthing, it would be so nice to have another movie written or co-written by Owen. I know in a recent interview he said he had the inclination let's hope that he will write something soon

Okay, I'm attempting to breathe slowly, I've probably already counted to a thousand.....my dad's best friends 13 year old son said that Owen looked like Micheal Jackson. What's wrong with that?! The day that he looks like MJ, I'm killing myself. I about killed him, too, b/c he knows that I like Owen. Ugh, I was so pissed off @ him, it wasn't funny. Another thing, he told his friend, another 13 yr old that I liked him. I'm 3 years older, and he BELIEVED HIM. His friends name is Noel and is my best friends younger bro, so she encouraged me to go knock the crap out of him. He just has his bday, they both just did actually, but niether of them are going to live to see 14 if they keep this up!! Ugh. I'm mad. I'm gonna go look at Owen pics, that should help.
