I always feel it polite to start a topic to introduce me when I join forums online and as there doesn't appear to be an 'introductions' type forum here, I hope its ok to put this here instead, as im mainly a fan of Owen and so will probably mainly post here. If the mods want to move this to the anything goes forum then thats fine, I just thought I'll be posting here most of the time so maybe its more appropriate here but whatever...

Anyway I joined as I'm a fan of Owen and am interested in finding out more about him and his family (not meaning to be nosy; as a fan, you know what I mean!). Its been so sad the news of whats happened to him recently... it was back around March/April time this year I started to really notice him in movies and stuff and have been catching up with his movies and stuff...

anyway, after hearing the sad news about his hospitalisation, I've seen alot of insensitive stuff said, particularly browsing on the IMDB discussion forum and so I thought to have a look for fan forums to read fellow fans' thoughts and so on. This seems a very friendly place, so I thought I'd join.

A bit about me, well im 24 and live in East Central Scotland and I work part time in a college library and um I like watching movies & TV, playing video games and listening to music. My nickname is Izzy though no-one really calls me that, I used to call myself that when I was a teen lol I also used to write poetry, people used to say I was really good at that but that ability has sort of dried up, or at least I don't really think to do that anymore, which is maybe a bit of a shame I guess...

anyway just wanted to say hi thats who I am and all of that lol hope everyone is doing well etc. and if this should be moved to another forum please move it mods, I wasn't sure... thanks.

ah well I got the forum wrong lol I figured this one was just for mod stickies... oh well, whatever lol (which is something I keep saying - whatever! *doh*) thanks for the welcome Remi (btw this may sound strange but you don't come from Holland by any chance? I used to know of someone who ran a forum about a music group I was a big fan of but I think that was Remma, might have been Remi(?) im guessing there's no link though...)

oh im def. bias. ive been apart of some other message boards through the years, not just the ones concerning the wilson and the ppl have always been cold and constinatly fighting..total opposite here. you'll see #cheerleader#

as far as my avatar pic, im not really sure. its just a random pic i found online and i thought it was adorable..sorry i wasnt much help

Thats ok, I was just curious. I used to post on this message board every day, practically everyone knew me and all of that stuff (I know im showing off now, I dont mean to actually I sometimes wish that I'd never got so 'involved' in that place) and it went downhill, people argued alot and there was lots of personal attacks and all sorts, so I ended up just not going back there... as it happened I think I was becoming this somewhat unhealthily obsessed fan (the board was about the boy band BSB) and being on that forum, geez it was crazy I had the worlds largest post count at about 47,000 after being there for about 4 years and I'd be obsessed with keeping my post count really high and stuff.

Now ive stopped going there and i stopped being a fan really, im more into movies and TV now but I was a bit hesitant that I don't want to go back to being all obsessive here either... I don't think I will be lol that was the crazy teen years back then I guess.

I took it to heart when people said hurtful things about me and I saw other people being offended and it just got nasty, it was like a chore logging on and trying to defend people or otherwise reading the latest argument and all of that, blah blah... I used to (still am to some extent) be on the internet and have it as way too big a part of my life really its kinda scary but that forum wasn't becoming too nice in alot of ways, so I got out of there...

lol bet that was a fascinating read! *shrug* oh well lol! anyway yeah I know what some places are like, with personal attacks and stuff - not good. I certainly hope its not like that here, it sounds promising I don't know a great deal of people nearby to me, so, ive just got to that stage where id like to try and 'meet' a few more people online that I can chat with and stuff (hope that doesn't seem too weird!). Okay ill shutup now lol im not too weird really...

oh btw my name is a bit of a strange one, i came up with it randomly as i was fed up of using my old teeny one and i came up with it as i sometimes think of myself as 'little ol' me' like not that im old or little but that im just a regular person sort of thing and so the initials or whatever to that is LOM and then my birth year was 1983, hence 83, so thats what my username means, just to clear that up... exciting as im sure it is to read about! lol... thanks for the replies guys

Welcome (again) lom83! Very nice of you to share so much of your background and personality with us already. I've been active in this forum since 2003. I've looked at other forums but dropped them and stay here exclusively for the Wilsons and Wes because this is definitely the friendliest forum.

I've experienced nastiness on the internet too (I suppose we all have) and didn't like the way I was being pulled down to a certain level of mean-ness; way too much negativity. I'm referring mostly to some of the postings at IMDb. That's where I began my internet career as an Owen fan.

Fortunately, someone from this forum posted there telling us about this forum so I came here and found it to be a far better neighborhood. People here actually LOVE Owen and his brothers and Wes, unlike many of the people at IMDb. We have such a good virtual community here that I call it "the Sisterhood of the Wilsonettes" (which, I suppose is pretty corny).

Thanks texasgal thats ok, sorry if I bored anyone lol yeah I saw the IMDB forum, though in its favor there are also alot of supportive topics but some of the other posts are just, well, stupid. I think whoever posts some of the more sensationalist messages, their more attention seeking than him! people accuse him of doing this as some kind of attention seeking exercise when alot of those same people saying that are posting messages obviously trying to catch everyone elses attention and going on about it - deary me *rolls eyes* anyway its nonsense because he has already issued a statement specifically asking the media to keep away for now so it clearly isnt about any kind of publicity or attention seeking or he would want the media there... my name on IMDB is smilesbringjoy, which was my old (v. old lol like from around 2000) AOL screen name, I replied to a few topics there but there's alot going on there.

Ofan's avy looks like a photo from the Paper Magazine shoot. I'm not absolutely positive about that though.
