I think the java script that is producing the snow is causing my CPU to run at 100%. I have a brand new Dell 1 yr old running WindowsXP. Is there something I need to download to run this more efficiently. I've tried Netscape and IE...
I can only stay on this site for a few seconds before I run out of CPU.

Hi Lib, I changed it so that the snow falls only when you are on the top page. Please let me know if you are still having the same problem. If you are, I guess we can stop the snow now that we have enjoyed it for one week. Or if people would still like to have it, I can investigate what can be done to fix Lib's problem

Thanks. I can actually stay on here to write more about my problem I am fine on my husband's new Emac, but my Dell was having problems. Does anyone know how to deactivate java scripts on your browser - that may be my best solution. But actually as I type this I realize that I am not having any problems since you modified the script. Thanks again - and sorry, because I really like the snow flakes! Modifed to add that Windows\CSRSS.exe was the problem and I read on Google's groups that there are known problems with CSRSS.exe and Java scripts. If I keep exploring I might find something to download that will make my computer handle the scripts more efficiently.

Hitch the sled dogs, fill the St. Bernard's brandy keg, ditch the snow and save our Librarian! HurlT
