Yeah, and I hope this isn't another "bait 'n switch" thing like what was done with TWBS. What a long strange journey that has been. I can't get a handle on Henry Poole either. Some sources say it opens in Belgium on a certain date in July or August. Other sources are saying it will be widely released on August 15.

chevy, it was my understanding that back when Henry Poole had a release date of March it was limited and when it got pushed back to August it was wide release. However, according to imdb.com August 15 is a limited release date. I watched the official trailer on YouTube and it says coming soon...no definitive date. Myspace page says August 15th but not which kind of release. With that info i would plan to make a road trip.

LOL mixedberry. Now if only you could tell me WHERE I have to go to find the movie, I'd be all set. I did find another source that listed it as nationwide, so I'm still crossing my fingers that it will hit the Harkins or AMC near me. One more month! Am I the only one who is excited about a new Luke movie?? I figure I'm in the right place for that. My best friend is about to put me in a 12 step program. She keeps telling me she's a fan too, but I don't think she's got it as bad as I do!

My best friend is about to put me in a 12 step program. If it comes anywhere, one would expect it to come to TX! I'll watch for it and let you know. You're welcome at my house. That way, I have someone to share the pleasure of a Luke movie with.

You're on texas!! And if it comes to Phoenix and not Texas, then you can come here. In fact, whichever Wilsonette gets Henry Poole gets to host us all!

The Landmark Theatres chain says it will be showing Henry Poole. We have one in Chicago so you all can come here and see it with me !

There are Landmarks in Dallas. Well, at least one that I know of: the Inwood, the Wilson's boyhood cinema close to their home, and where TWBS re-opened in 2007. But thank you for the invitations! #hug# Edited to add: I found this review of Henry Poole from Sundance: www.variety.com/index.asp?layout=festivals&jump=review&id=2471&reviewid=VE1117935898&cs=1If this writer's description is accurate, I'm troubled by the movie's premise. But because Luke is in it, I'll definitely see it anyway and try to keep an open mind.

Wow texas, that review seems a bit harsh. I am also keeping an open mind about this movie. Yes science and medicine play a big part in a person's health, but you can't deny having some faith in whatever you believe in can also keep you strong enough to fight whatever is ailing you. I kind of hope that is the point this movie is trying to make.

Chevygirl, if that's the point of the movie, it's a good one and nothing wrong with it.
But the review makes it sound like the movie is pitting faith against science which is stupid. There's no reason at all why it has to be or should be an either/or situation. Science & faith are not mutually exclusive - though a lot of very vocal & influential people are making it that way nowadays.
The other thing that bothers me is the suggestion that there is only one valid faith. If that's a part of the movie's message, I'm not going to like it. Of course, anyone should be free to make the movie with the message they want to convey. They just shouldn't be surprised if not all their audience reacts favorably, that's all I mean to say.
Whatever my reaction is to the movie when I see it won't change how I feel about Luke!
Anyway, I'm getting way ahead of myself. I haven't even seen the movie yet, and I might end up disagreeing with this review. Also I realize I've already trod into controversial and emotionally charged territory, so I'll stop!

Thanks IMAQT! Is it just me or does he do a really good job acting as if he just woke up? Loved that part of Family Stone too. And the part after, out by the car. But I digress....
