That's really hard to believe. I don't care if anyone is gay or straight, and nobody else does either - unless the person in question is caring for or teaching their kid. Then they tend to care plenty. Actors are not involved in child-care or teaching minors.
Edited to add: The question is, Rach, if you don't care, why are you making such an issue of it?

i care that we live in a world where ppl i scared to come out. Believe me being gay is no big deal,if ppl saw their idols come out, it would help many teenagers who i struggling with the same issues. ppl should not care plenty about gay ppl teaching or caring 4 their kids

You state you have no proof but this is your opinion...What malicious opinions would you want someone to assume about you and post just because? You are accusing Owen of living a lie, creating a false impression in the public's mind, and being basically a big phony. That is what was being referred to when iluvtexas brought up the term "malicious"-- she did not say gay people were malicious, for heaven's sake. I wonder why you would even like Owen if you think he is a big liar? You keep bringing up the gay thing, so it seems like you have an agenda here, IMHO.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't have a problem if he was gay - even if it were in the slightest way my business, something tells me it ain't going to make a lot of difference to my chances, huh?   However, I do think it seems pretty unlikely. Just IMO obviously but it's a bit of a big assumption on the evidence that's actually available. If he is gay he's done an incredible job covering it up over the years, given his reputation, and I can't begin to imagine why anyone would make up affairs that haven't appreciably improved his popularity - if someone was going to have a "beard", it would make a good deal more sense to make an arrangement, for example, with someone who wasn't married with a child (such as Kate), which is not exactly designed to make a person look good to onlookers who are looking to criticise. Way to go orchestrating good publicity - not  Fans will be unlikely to go off either of them in a serious way because of it, but it's not likely to win new fans either. I'm also not sure that someone who was trying hard to cover up a gay lifestyle would then be going out with a same sex friend and fighting/wrestling with them in places where there were likely to be paps  It requires quite a jump in logic to reconcile "goes out with lots of woman to hide sexuality" with "spends time in a relatively public place messing around with a same sex mate in a way that could be misconstrued by people who want to misconstrue it"... Most people who are that close with same sex friends are that way, in my experience, because they're confident and secure enough in their sexuality that they don't feel the need to hold back in their friendships and affections. Assuming Owen is gay on the evidence that's actually available is quite a leap. Disregarding all of that, however, I find it a great shame that people are so keen to find hidden agendas in friendships. If think if I were Owen or Woody I'd be less worried about being perceived as gay and more annoyed that I couldn't have a close friendship without being jumping all over it and deciding that it told the world something about my sexuality  . I've said it before and no doubt will say it again - I'm just grateful I'm not famous so that if I hug a friend of either sex in public, or have a tickle fight with them, or even *gasp* share a room with them, no one blinks an eyelid  |

Rach, it seems that you are the one who is obsessed with this notion that Owen is gay. Nobody else is. It seems that most of us would prefer to see incontrovertible evidence than to make unsubstantiated assumptions about someone we don't even know. And still I don't see how or why a true fan would care even if he is gay.
There were rumors all along about Wayne Newton, and nobody cared. As with the other actors you've listed, nobody cares about their gender preferences either. Their careers are intact.
This book to which you referred - the allegation that Hollywood actors are gay - is just another form of witch hunting. If the point of the book is to show how unaccepted gays are, maybe you should check the copywrite date of the book. It might be outdated. Being gay did not impede the careers of Richard Chamberlain, Liberace, Rock Hudson,* Anthony Perkins, Rudolf Nureyev, or Tab Hunter. J. Edgar Hoover, the first director of the FBI, was gay. Sure didn't stop his career. I bet if I did a search, I'd find lots of people who are successful and openly gay, such as some very talented singers and musicians I knew personally in Detroit.
* Indeed, when Rock Hudson announced his homosexuality and HIV positivity, I remember him being showered with nothing but love and admiration.
If you really don't care if someone is gay, you have an odd way of showing your acceptance - by starting rumors about them.

Owen gay?  That is hilarious. Even Ted Casablanca will not go there. I forgot what he wrote several years back but it was something about the Wilson's being VERY heterosexual. There are plenty of rumors about Owen... but gay not one I have ever heard. Actually the rumors are QUITE the opposite. So much so that it seems silly to debate it. Almost as silly as a rumor that Owen is a trannie looking for a sex change... or Owen is considering the priesthood... or Owen is going into politics - running for mayor of L.A. Owen is an international spy pretending to be an actor... I could go on! |

Ha, that's a good one, Librarian. Owen is known as the Butterscotch Stallion, well-known for his girl-crazy skirt-chasing. Allegedly, he's supposed to love to bite girls' butts. This is the first time I've heard his girl-craziness and girls' butt-biting is due to homosexuality. I've never heard an allegation of Owen biting a guy's butt, not even Woody's. #biglol# |
