Regarding presenter speeches: I've always wondered if it's possible they are speaking from a memorized script or if they might be reading a teleprompter. I'm amazed they never say an "um," an "uh," which leads me to think they may be reading a teleprompter. But I never see evidence of one present. It must be well-hidden from the TV cameras, perhaps the monitor is on their little podiums. But they never are looking down either when they are speaking.
Input anyone?

I thought the teleprompters were straight ahead of them... But I'm not 100% positive.

Yeah, Nat, that makes sense the teleprompters would be positioned at eye level so that the presenters would be looking straight ahead while reading. I'm just curious where the monitors are. They must be visible to the live audience but the TV cameras don't point at them. When the TV cameras show us the appearance of the audience from the stage point of view, it's always at an angle; never straight ahead.

  He looked great-looooved the hair tonight. Owen looked fabulous too. I loved how Owen said (quietly, but you could still hear him), "I should've given that to him" and Luke said "Yeah" when Owen realized that he was still holding the envelope from the Oscar that they'd just announced. ;D Also, loved Luke's expression when Owen announced the Chicken Little characters-he looked like he was trying not to crack up. They presented best short film, which Owen took delight in announcing about BR. They looked great together, relaxed, happy.  I didn't catch that thing about the enevlope, will have to watch my video again. Maybe the cameras that the UK were using didn't get it. But we finally got to see them, in there black suit glory. I am now one happy lady   |

Thanks ladies for getting those pics up promptly. Luke was just too flippin gorgeous I just saw the video of it on The Frat pack website, both were very cool and calm. Compare it to Lukes last presenter outing at The Globes, it was like a different man. They were both excellent presenters, articulate and audible, though they kind of waddled on stage towards the podium I enjoyed the BR references and the inflation joke. ;D Well done boys |

I thought it was funny how Owen was practically walking off the stage while talking to the winner that they had just handed the Oscar to...and Luke kind of got his attention and directed him back to the podium. At least that's how I remember it from last night. I have to watch my tape again. Or look on Kev's Frat Pack Site.  |

At least that's how I remember it from last night. Yes!! I saw that too! I didn't realize that they had to present another award and I thought Owen and the winner were just going the wrong way or something and Luke was trying to re-direct them. Then I realized that they were going to present another one. I loved Owen's "Ohhhh almost forgot!" expression.  Beth |

I think it was apt' that they presented the Oscar for best short film, and IMHO they were funny...a little. The world would be weary with every Frat, Stiller and Wilson trying to be funny and out do each other on that stage...IT IS NOT S.N.L, I.M.B.D people!  *Gets of soap box* |
