I brought this over from the other forum. I found this on google news.
Texas singer-songwriter Billy Joe Shaver took his show to Hollywood club The Knitting Factory, where he played to a star-studded audience Monday night (March 1). Actor Luke Wilson -- a fellow Texan -- listened intently from the balcony as Academy Award-winner Robert Duvall danced with a friend nearby. Shaver recently co-starred with Wilson, his brother, Owen Wilson, and Kris Kristofferson in The Wendell Baker Story (a film also written and directed by Luke Wilson). The singer worked with Duvall on the big screen in the 1997 film The Apostle. Duvall's longtime girlfriend, Luciana Pedraza, has just finished The Portrait of Billy Joe, a documentary that will debut this month at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. Shaver told CMT News that country fan Kid Rock will produce his next album. The two met through mutual friend David Allan Coe.

Billy Joe Shaver? I'm assuming this is a country musician we are talking about. Can't say country is really my thing, but I'm sure for Luke I could bear to listen to some I wonder if Luke line dances...

Haha! That could be a good thing, November. I was having hilarious visions of Luke in a barn, in spurs, with his thumbs hooked through his belt loops kicking his heels up to the sound of a banjo

Thanks OSG and Natalie, those pictures are hilarious of Paris. The comment in the New York Post makes sense now.
You can tell that Luke is really into the game. It looks like Paris is along for whatever the boys are doing that evening. Those pictures look like the precursor to the Sveda Vodka party.

Had never seen the story at the top of this thread, glad to have it resurface. Lib- To think you had the good fortune to actually speak to Billy Joe!
As for the Knicks game coverage- I think that lumping & linking Luke with Paris Hilton's "self-absorbed celebrity" is unecessary. She's a five star glitter girl and Luke seems more like a guy who just got a ticket in the section that had the best view and security staff...HT

Exactly HT! She was just there to prance around and show herself off. (roll eyes) You know, I always wear my white fur coat when I go to a basketball game. Yeah, sure!

She looked beyond bored - as though she could not wait for the next event in the evening.

Here's another tidbit from Luke's visit to NYC:

Thanks for the "tidbit," Lib!
I always figured Conan and Luke were friends. I remember watching Conan when Luke was on promoting "Alex & Emma." You remember the episode--the one where Luke looked into the camera and said he wanted TWO Sony flat screen TVs! I remember watching it until the very end. As the credits were about to roll, I could see Conan telling Luke to "call him."
Woody Harrelson? Hmmm . . . my sister said he was on Conan around the time Luke was in NYC taping SNL and said Conan and Woody seemed to get along great. Maybe Conan invited him to some late night dining. All I think of when I hear Woody's name is HEMP!
Dining with Bono would be quite interesting!
