There has been quite a bit of news about Meeting Evil for about a week so I'm assuming it must be true. It hasn't appeared on Luke's IMDB page yet but it does usually take a while before a new project is added. There are a few articles on the IMDB link, one which gives this description of Luke's role: Wilson is playing a depressed real estate salesman, struggling through the economic collapse. He ends up encountering Jackson's mysterious criminal, Richie, who takes him on a crazy, violent, 24-hour crime spree. #unsure# www.imdb.com/name/nm0005561/news

Creepy! Scary! Eeek! *gulp* I am not sure that I am going to be able to watch this movie when it is released. ;) Here is a Q&A with the writer and director Chris Fisher and it sounds like he is a Luke fan, too. CHRIS FISHER: Luke Wilson was in my mind when I wrote the script, as he’s so honest, so believable, so grounded, so likable, so relatable, so uniquely American in his ways. He’s the perfect John Felton, our hero.He is our hero! He is! ROFL! Here is the link (copy/paste it) and the whole text. www.fangoria.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3069:exclusive-photos-a-comments-chris-fishers-meeting-evil&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=167Fango’s been following the career of LA writer/director Chris Fisher (NIGHTSTALKER, RAMPAGE: THE HILLSIDE STRANGLER MURDERS, S. DARKO) since he first made a splash on the festival circuit, so we’re thrilled to see him behind the cameras again on a new dark thriller, MEETING EVIL, which begins lensing on Saturday in Louisiana. After toiling in TV the last couple of years on such shows as WAREHOUSE 13, EUREKA, HAWAII 5-0 and MOONLIGHT, as well as helming the upcoming DVD sequel STREET KINGS: MOTOR CITY, Fisher has assembled a killer cast for MEETING EVIL, which he adapted himself from the 1992 Thomas Berger novel. See below the jump for Fisher’s exclusive comments and a look at the house (“the ‘dream home’ for our nightmare,” he says) of the film’s protagonist, average guy John Felton, whose life changes when a disturbed stranger knocks on his door and takes him on the worst ride of his life…
FANGORIA: Tell us about your casting choices for MEETING EVIL and what the actors will bring to their roles.
CHRIS FISHER: [VACANCY’s] Luke Wilson was in my mind when I wrote the script, as he’s so honest, so believable, so grounded, so likable, so relatable, so uniquely American in his ways. He’s the perfect John Felton, our hero. Sam Jackson as evil incarnate [antagonist Richie Maranville]—c’mon, what else needs to be said?! Sam Jackson’s character is darker than anything he’s ever done before, by a longshot. [MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN’s] Leslie Bibb as Joanie, the all-American housewife? Again, the perfect choice, and just wait till you see what she does with this role; maybe the biggest surprise of all comes from her. And [SHUTTLE’s] Peyton List as Tammy, the other woman…what married man wouldn’t risk it all for her? Every cast member and collaborator on this project is beyond expectations. It’s a dream cast to make a nightmare movie.
FANG: What attracted you to the book?
FISHER: Thomas Berger’s incredible novel was sparse, raw, hilarious and brutal. I loved the antihero elements of the ‘hero,’ the heroic elements of the ‘villain,’ the contradictions throughout and the all-around honest portrayal of the decay of the American dream. Also, as in any great noir, the characters start as archetypes, even stereotypes, then unfold with surprising twists, and I loved the suspense of not being able to guess the trajectory. But for sure, my favorite part of the novel was Richie, who is the most interesting character study of evil I have ever come across in literature. Mr. Berger has given us a treatise on the nature of evil that H.P. Lovecraft, Stephen King or Rod Serling—even Nietzsche—would have killed to create. I am very excited to give Richie life on the screen.
FANG: The story has a good-vs.-evil element similar to the standoff in the original HITCHER. Will that film be an inspiration on your movie?
FISHER: THE HITCHER has similarities to this story, but it has not been a reference point so far with my creative team. References so far include FUNNY GAMES, BADLANDS, STRAW DOGS, A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE, NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, etc.
FANG: How close will your adaptation be to the book?
FISHER: I did my best to capture the intent of the novel, but I guess I wouldn’t be the best person to answer that question. Hopefully, Mr. Berger will feel as though I did his story justice.
FANG: How horrific will the story get?
FISHER: Horrific, but in surprising ways and not in the usual moments. It’s a study in violence, so certainly, gore is an important element. There will be blood.
FANG: Will you emphasize the duality of evil between John and Richie?
FISHER: The duality between John and Richie is the point of the story. Captor/captive, Stockholm syndrome, passivity in the face of aggression, chaos vs. the social contract, social mores vs. Darwinism, etc.—these are all key themes of the movie. Whether it’s a surrealistic film, however, or a realistic film is something I won’t give away, though.
FANG: What will the Louisiana locations bring to the story?
FISHER: Great locations, great crew, maybe a little bit of voodoo and a sense of the American suburban dream crumbling around us.
FANG: What are your goals with MEETING EVIL?
FISHER: My goal is to not get in Richie’s way and let evil do its thing.

I could not get the photo at Nana's link but I think this may be it? I don't want to miss anything, darn it! :) SLJ looks like a bad a$$ in his hat. www.nola.com/west-bank/index.ssf/2011/01/post_18.htmlStargazing was the order of the day recently at the rear parking lot of Fountain Park Centre near the Royal Palm Restaurant in Harvey as the area provided the backdrop for filming “Meeting Evil,” starring Luke Wilson, Samuel L. Jackson and Leslie Bibb.
Actors Luke Wilson and Samuel L. Jackson work on a scene for 'Meeting Evil,' which filmed in Harvey recently. Filming took place on a recent weekend as the area filled with actors, staff, extras and onlookers. The atmosphere was one of excitement as gazers basked in the sun and watched the action.
Marrero resident Kim Curtis was there, along with her daughter, Nekishia. The two had just finished breakfast at Parrot Pete’s, when they found out about the shoot and decided to get a closer look.
They got lucky when they stood just feet away from Jackson, as he sat at an outdoor table. He waved and said hello to the women.
Curtis said she had urged her husband, James Curtis, to try out as a stand-in for Jackson in the movie.
Also watching the action was Beaux Green, who sat with Rene Phillips and Dee Daigle as he awaited his parents.
As observers looked on, locations staffer Kris Leichtenberg worked to seal the outer perimeter of the set as the camera rolled again and again.
Later, a flurry of motion took place as Jackson popped in at a local golf shop during a break.
Fountain Park Centre on Manhattan Boulevard in Harvey provided the backdrop for the movie 'Meeting Evil,' starring Luke Wilson, Samuel Jackson and Leslie Bibb. Onlooker Marrero resident Kim Curtis, center, and her daughter Nekishia, left, talk with locations staffer Kris Leichtenberg. Earlier, the two women stood just feet from Jackson, who waved and said hello. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office was on the roster for filming additional scenes the next day.
In the movie, an adaptation of Thomas Berger’s novel, Wilson plays the role of a mild-mannered real estate agent who gets caught up in Jackson’s path of destruction and violence.

Sadly i think Luke was miscast, the movie looks bad. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I'm with iluvtexas, that's crazy talk. This looks AWESOME and Luke looks AMAZING (and SLJ is right in his comfortable wheelhouse, too!). I think this is one of those films where you can catch on Video on Demand before a theatrical run. Like Tim and Eric's and Goon, to name two recent comedies following this formula.

Luke i still think after watching was miscast but nice that he is changing up his roles..If u have really low expectations of this you will think its alright but its not a good movie by any stretch.Sorry 4 being negative ,i know it bugs some of you..Love to know what everyone else thinks
