This is true as Variety reported on it yesterday. Normally I don't like animated films all that much, but this actually sounds interesting and something a grown-up could appreciate. Gosh, Owen is busier than ever these days!

Um turkeys.............hate them, they are so creepy. But if Owen is voicing one, I can watch it............I think That's too funny, we have wild turkeys that meander around the neighborhoods around here. One of my bosses has them on her ranch too, they hang out in the trees and look quite menacing. Every time I see them, I will think of you now Hottie!

PS never gave it much thought but I did not realize turkeys could fly...ie "hang out in the trees"..... Growing up in the concrete jungle in California, I never thought much about turkeys flying either. Trust me it's a strange sight to see. If I ever head out to Julie's ranch again, I'll be sure to name her turkeys Owen and Woody! Hey, do you guys remember the movie Chicken Run? Mel Gibson was the voice of the main chicken.

I wonder how high are the trees that these turkeys are able to reach. If the branches are low enough, turkeys could fly up to them I suppose. But yeah, I was a city kid too and though I've spent a lot of time in the Great Outdoors, I'd never run into wild turkeys much. So, yeah, I'm surprised to learn that turkeys fly. Anyone here old enough to remember the old 80's show, "WKRP in Cincinnati"? Remember the episode that was supposed to take place at Thanksgiving time. In the episode, some organization was releasing turkeys from an airplane in the air for people to catch for free. WKRP was covering the event but the turkeys were falling to the ground instead of flying to the ground. (The horror was not visible to the TV viewers and certainly never happened in real life!) The TV camera was on the WKRP newsman who was reporting the event. He naturally became hysterical, saying "Oh the humanity...." It was just like the reporter who witnessed the real-life 1937 Hindenburg tragedy. Come to think of it, this isn't coming across as being funny at all. I guess it's one of those situations where you had to be there....

Texasgal I get it.... More about Turkeys....Article is from the Dallas Morning News... More family films to come from North Texas Dallas-based Reel FX is in preproduction on the animated film Turkeys, and it looks to be just the start of a slate of family films that will be produced in North Texas. The film features the voices of Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson as turkeys that find a time machine and go back to the first Thanksgiving to remove themselves from the holiday menu tradition. Luke Wilson also will do a voice part in the film, which is scheduled for a 2011 release. The film slate is part of the launch of Bedrock Studios, a pairing of Ed Jones' Reel FX, which has been based out of Dallas since 1993, and industry veteran Cary Granat. Bedrock's aim is to produce films with budgets of less than $35 million both in Dallas and Santa Monica, Calif., Variety reported Thursday. "It's going to lead to a lot more work here," said Janis Burklund, of the Dallas Film Commission. "They will be doing both live action and animation. ... It shows the depth in types of productions we're getting."

There was a great line at the end, when Gordon Jump who played the man who owned the station said "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!"

Turkeys Upcoming Animation Movie of Owen Wilson, Release Date, Cast.....Animation films are rapidly taking over the traditional movies in Hollywood and Turkeys in another upcoming animation Hollywood film. Ash Brannon is director of Turkeys and he is planning to release this movie in first quarter of 2012. Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson are playing leading role in this upcoming animation movie (only voices). Craig Mazin and David Stern are the writers of Turkeys. Story of Turkeys is tale of two turkeys (Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson) that travel back in time to save their future generation. They went to thanksgiving dinner because their feathered friends are in danger of extinction due to holiday meals. Their journey is full of fun and comedy.Overall this Reel FX Creative Studios film is interesting and one of the most anticipated animation films of year 2012.
