I agree that the audience would expect Hansel to be included in any Zoolander, and that no actor other than Owen would be Hansel. I agree that a Zoolander without Owen/Hansel would be like a burger without fries, a sundae without hot fudge, a home without a pet, day without sunshine,.... ;D

I wonder if Andrew will still be his corner guy?

That would be cool.
I am sure Owen wouldn't let Ben down by not signing. Maybe he is waiting to see the script and all that. He is quite busy at the mo.

Saw this on twitter.... RT @andreamineocnn: Ben #Stiller tells me the script for #Zoolander sequel is in the works. They will bring back Hansel - Owen Wilson. PS Interview about Zoolander....Feb 28 2010 3:46 PM EST Ben Stiller Wants 'Zoolander 2' To Include Owen Wilson, Will FerrellHow will male models Derek and Hansel return to the runway, 10 years later? Since 2001, comedy lovers have eagerly anticipated the further adventures of fashion icon Derek Zoolander, the dimwitted but goodhearted protagonist at the center of Ben Stiller's "Zoolander." Now, a decade later, the really, really, really good-looking model is set to stroll down the theatrical catwalk once more, as Stiller has confirmed to MTV News recent reports suggesting that a "Zoolander" sequel is in the works. "Yes, it is true," Stiller said in an exclusive interview with MTV. "We're in the process of getting a script written, so it's in the early stages. But yeah, it's going to happen." According to Stiller, "Zoolander 2" will focus on how the fashion industry has changed in the 10 years since moviegoers last saw Derek. "In the fashion world, if you go away for a year, it's changed — it just happens so quickly," he said. "I think the idea in the beginning of the movie is that it's 10 years later, and Derek and Hansel [Owen Wilson's character] are literally forgotten. Nobody remembers who they are, so they have to reinvent themselves."
In addition to Wilson's character, Stiller said he's hoping for the return of Mugatu, the original film's villain played by Will Ferrell. "If Will says yes, he definitely has to be part of it," said the comedian. "To me, Mugatu is one of the classic screen villains of all time." While "Zoolander 2" will explain what Derek and Hansel have been up to over the years, many of the film's fans have wondered why it's taken so long for a sequel to emerge. Stiller said that he's tried for years to figure out how to proceed with another installment, noting that the death of "Zoolander" co-creator Drake Sather in 2004 was a difficult obstacle to overcome. "For a long time, that was the hardest thing for me to figure out how to move forward through," he said. "Now, I think we have." The "Zoolander 2" breakthrough owes thanks not just to Stiller and "Tropic Thunder" writer Justin Theroux, who is possibly directing the developing sequel, but also to other collaborators including original "Zoolander" writer John Hamburg and "Get Him to the Greek" director Nick Stoller. "We're going to take the best of what we have," Stiller said of the current "Zoolander" game plan. "We have a new story idea that we feel excited about, and we're going to try to go forward."

I was going to jump around with excitement, and add my opinion that Hansel/Owen HAS to be in Twolander, but then someone mentioned Owen and hot fudge in the same post so now I'm kinda, erm, distracted... *laughs*

If there's no Owen/Hansel, I'm not going to bother seeing this....maybe when it's on dvd but I'm definitely not paying cinema prices for it.

Well it's all a bit up in the air isn't it? I guess we won't know for certain if we'll get Twolander till it arrives. And if it doesn't, at least the first one's on DVD!
I agree, no way would Zoolander be the same without Hansel.

Cute video!! I have no idea why this is showing up today but apparently they asked Owen about Z2 during his press junket for How Do You Know over the weekend. That blue shirt really brings out his eyes. Awww. I wonder what the HDYK PR team thinks about MTV jacking their interview and talking about Zoolander 2. MTV has not posted anything about HDYK yet. They did the same with Reese and talked about Water for Elephants. I bet their were some pissed off publicists in that room. Ha! www.mtv.com/news/articles/1653615/20101206/story.jhtml Owen Wilson Photo: MTV News At New York Comic Con in October, "Zoolander 2" writer/director Justin Theroux told MTV News that when we finally catch up with Derek and his buddy Hansel — the fashion world's It dudes back in the 2001 original — we're hardly going to recognize them. "We start off with them in a pretty bad place," he said of the sequel plans. "They're about to ring 40's bell. They have to claw their way back into the fashion industry in some way or another." But while these two dimwitted male models might no longer be A-list fashionistas, that doesn't mean they've lost the egocentric mojo that makes them tick. Just take it from Hansel himself, Owen Wilson. "The thing about Hansel is he can't ever imagine himself, so even if he isn't the #1 guy, I think he still carries himself as if," Wilson told MTV News. "He'll still have that Hansel swagger." Though a draft of the script is done — Wilson called it "really funny" — there's still no set date for production to begin. When MTV News caught up with Ben Stiller last month, he told us they're hoping to begin shooting in 2011. "We're working on it, we're working on it," he said. "Hopefully next year we're going to be making it. But we've been full steam ahead on it." The fashion world, of course, has changed a great deal since '01, with new trendsetters coming onto the scene in the years since Mugatu hilariously introduced his Derelicte collection, featuring models dolled up like rag-covered bums. And Wilson has a feeling that none other than Lady Gaga, that meat-dress-wearing fashion icon, could be perfect for a "Zoolander 2" cameo. "Maybe she makes a good foil for Hansel," he laughed.

Zoolander 2 Mystery.... Challenge to all....We Wilsonette's can figure this out... #raisedbrow# #raisedbrow# #raisedbrow#
According to Owen in the article Hansel has "a disfiguring injury.” "Think Vanilla Sky"
Here is my first guess....Hansel wears a prosthetic mask to cover the frostbite he got when he climbed Mount Everest. **********
Ok so here is the article where Owen is being interviewed and the subject of Zoolander 2 came up....
"Help Solve the Mystery of Owen Wilson’s Disfiguring Zoolander 2 Injury"
"This past May, Ben Stiller gave us hope that a sequel to Zoolander could still happen…if only Paramount would approve the script. And now Owen Wilson is teasing fans of the 2001 modeling comedy by offering some clues about his character’s role in the much-anticipated Twolander. “Hansel, he’s fallen on hard times,” Wilson told MTV. “There’s been a disfiguring injury.” When pressed for further explanation, the actor offered one hint that could help unlock the sequel’s plot. Put on your most fashionable detective hat and join us after the jump to help us solve this modeling sequel mystery.
When asked what kind of injury his character, Hansel, would incur in the sequel, Wilson revealed, “Think Vanilla Sky.” In celebration of this clue, let’s take a moment to brainstorm some possible accidents and injuries that could affect the top fashion model. I’ll start out with a few suggestions…
· Hansel’s jealous ex (played by Cameron Diaz) tries to kill herself and Hansel in a car crash upon hearing about his new lover. Hansel escapes with disfiguring facial injuries.
· Tom Cruise (played by Tom Cruise) challenges Hansel to a walk-off that goes horrible wrong when Hansel falls off the runway and is maimed. In the face.
· Anticipating the onset of old age, Hansel attempts to have his face cryogenically frozen only to incur irreparable cryo-frostbite.
Earlier this year, Stiller described the Zoolander sequel that he hoped to make a decade later:
“It’s ten years later and most of it is set in Europe… it’s basically Derek and Hansel… though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime. Their lives have changed and they’re not really relevant anymore. It’s a new world for them. Will Ferrell is written into the script and he’s expressed interest in doing it. I think Mugatu is an integral part of the Zoolander story, so yes, he features in a big way.”

Hi there,
it's been a long time, since my last post! Anyway, at the weekend I saw Zoolander 2. Hmp, difficult to tell, but you have to admit that it's really a very flimflammed (I just googled this adjective) and grotty (SORRY!) movie. But I had fun! Although I have to say that sometimes only me and my friend were laughing, because the others couldn't understand all the references.
Hope all of you are well!
Bye, Calliope
