Cool news. It's easy to picture Owen misbehaving - whichever way that is interpreted.

It sounds like it's going to be hilarious and a perfect fit for our favorite bad boy.

This is great news! Thank you Nala!
I especially liked the part where it says it's being filmed in Atlanta... ;D

There's not much info on Hall Pass yet as it's early days. I've only liked a couple or so of the Farrelly films so I'm hoping this is going to be another one.

From The Hollywood Reporter
New Line has picked up the Farrelly Brothers comedy "Hall Pass" from turnaround from Fox, signing up Owen Wilson to topline the picture. Jason Sudeikis is also in negotiations to co-star.
The story centers on a married couple who find themselves in a lull in their marriage and just going through the motions. The wife then gives her husband (Wilson) a "hall pass," a free ticket to engage in extramarital encounters. Sudeikis would play the guy's best friend, who also gets a free pass.
Pete Jones wrote the spec, which was rewritten by Peter and Bobby Farrelly, who are directing. The duo are also producing with their Conundrum Entertainment partner Bradley Thomas.
The movie begins production Feb. 23 in Atlanta.
Meanwhile, the Farrellys' "Three Stooges" project at MGM got a little boost with news that Sean Penn may be back on the project to play Larry. The Boston Herald quoted Bobby Farrelly on Tuesday as saying, "We got him back," after Penn's self-imposed hiatus in June to work on family issues. Of course, Curly is still uncast and MGM's ownership is up in the air, so the film is far from greenlighted.
Wilson, repped by UTA, is shooting "Little Fockers" for Universal, and Sudeikis, repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment, is a fixture on "Saturday Night Live" and will appear on the big screen in "Bounty Hunter" with Gerard Butler and Jennifer Aniston.

No female lead has been mentioned yet and I've been thinking about who'd be good as the wife and I almost hate to say it but Kate hudson wouldn't be bad casting, or would it? I'm sure others may disagree, or perhaps Cameron Diaz? Not long to wait to find out if they're starting filming in February.
We probably won't see this one until later in the year, if that. But still there's two others to come the film Owen did with Reese and Little Fockers.

Another comedy! yay!! Can't wait.
As much as I love his comedy films, I wish he would do a more serious one for a change. Marley and Me was a nice change of pace and would love to see him do another one like that. But with Little Fockers and the others coming up. Its gonna be comedy for the year!

I too want to see Owen in more serious roles but maybe the better scripts he's received have been comedies.

OK, well, anything with Owen in it is gonna be good in my book.
Doesn't it just figure though that men thought/wrote this screenplay??

moviesblog.mtv.com/2010/01/06/owen-wilson-gets-a-hall-pass-from-the-farrelly-brothers/Owen Wilson Gets A 'Hall Pass' From The Farrelly Brothers Posted 1/6/10 3:00 pm ET by Christopher Campbell in News Is it a coincidence that both stars of "Wedding Crashers" are in the trades today for new projects involving marital infidelity? Earlier, I brought word of Vince Vaughn's untitled collaboration with Ron Howard. As for Owen Wilson, his movie, titled "Hall Pass," will be helmed by raunch-loving brothers Peter and Bobby Farrelly ("There's Something About Mary"). The siblings will be shooting this before their "Three Stooges" update, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "Hall Pass" seems appropriate to follow the Farrelly brothers' last effort, "The Heartbreak Kid," which involved a marriage doomed from the start. The comedy will star Wilson as a man whose wife gives him the freedom to cheat while their relationship is in a lull. I'm picturing a sex-filled montage akin to the one in "Wedding Crashers," though it's more likely Wilson's character doesn't end up actually committing the allowed adultery. Here's what the Farrellys told MTV News about the idea more than two years ago: "[The main characters are] married guys, and they're faithful to their wives, but they always look at other women," Peter explained. "[It gets] to the point where their wives get so annoyed that they say 'We'll give you a week. You can have sex with one other woman,' just to let the guys realize it might not be such a picnic." The part of Wilson's wife has not yet been cast. I'd personally love to see him reunited with Rachel McAdams, who would fit better in a Farrelly brothers film than she has in her recent roles. Wilson does already have a male co-star lined up: "Saturday Night Live" cast member Jason Sudeikis. The actor will play the best friend, who apparently also gets a "hall pass" for extramarital relations. Are you looking forward to Owen Wilson getting raunchy with the Farrelly brothers? Do you wish "Three Stooges" was the brothers' next movie?
