I happened to catch Charlie Rose's show tonight, in which he interviewed the film maker Richard Linklater. I had never seen Linklater before (although I had heard of him, of course) and was shocked at how much he reminded me of Owen! His hair is darker, and he's eight years older, but the resemblance is striking. Not only their faces, but the way he speaks. I was wondering (crazy me) if he could possibly be a long-lost brother of Owen's. He lives in Austin, TX (according to what he told Charlie Rose) and IMDB says he was born in Houston. He was born four years before Owen's older brother Andrew, who is the oldest of the three Wilson siblings. And Linklater is a self-taught writer/film director. My wild imagination had me wondering if he was born out of wedlock to the Wilson parents and put up for adoption. I don't know if Charlie Rose shows are archived online. But try to find tonight's show and see if you see what I mean about Linklater. I apologize to the Wilson parents for suggesting something this wild that is probably entirely untrue. (For the record, I love Owen. I feel a strong artistic connection to his family.)

I didn't know of Richard Linklater so I looked him up and yes, I can see the resemblance despite the dark hair and eyes. Richard was born in Houston, Texas but is referred to a lot on websites as Austin film-maker as his adopted home is/was Austin, Texas. Plus he's artistic director of the Austin Film Society. Coincidence? Perhaps they're something like long distance cousins. www.variety.com/index.asp?layout=photoGalleryAlbum&galleryid=1080&order=14
