Jennifer Aniston Eats a Doggy Treat
Marley & Me co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson promote their new pooch flick on German TV show “Wetten Dass…” at Messe Duesseldorf in Germany on Saturday (February 28).
During the show, there was a bet to see if a woman who owned 28 huskies could name some of them just from the sound of them slurping from their water bowl. Jen bet that she could do it while Owen bet that she couldn’t. The woman identifed four dogs and
Jen won the bet! #bow# Since they were promoting their dog movie, the Germans made Owen eat a doggy treat. Jen also took a bite of the biscuit in support of Owen . BTW, it wasn’t really a dog biscuit. It was just a cookie!
Jen , 40, wore a Givenchy dress and some killer Bernaz Kanani heels.
Here's a little more to the story, it was posted today March 1st on People.com
It's a cute story.
Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston went barking up the wrong tree Saturday in Germany.
When the Marley and Me stars appeared on the popular German variety show Wetten, dass …?, they ended up with a mouthful of dog biscuit.
The show asks celebrity visitors to bet whether a special guest can perform the talent they claim to have. This time, it was a German woman who boasted that she could identify each of her team of Husky dogs by the sound of them lapping up soup. Wilson didn't believe she could do it, while Aniston bet on her.
Then the show's host, Thomas Gottschalk, told them that whoever lost the bet would have to eat a few dog biscuits. "I wish I had known the stakes first," Wilson said. ;D When the dog owner, who was blindfolded, guessed right, Gottschalk invited both Wilson and Aniston to join him in a biscuit. Aniston protested, "But I guessed right!"
The host told her, "You're a team, just like the dogs," which prompted Wilson to put his arm around her shoulder #hug# and say, "Honey, we're in this together." [/color]
Gottschalk gave each of the actors a biscuit and said, "I'll eat one, I'm the host. And Owen, you have to eat one. Jennifer, you can eat it if you want, but I'd really like to be able to tell my grandkids that I ate dog biscuits with Jennifer Aniston."
On the count of three they all took a bite. How were they?
"They're a little dry," said Aniston. Wilson seemed to be enjoying his more, so Gottschalk gave him a handful in, yes, a doggie bag.
Gottschalk praised Aniston, saying no one would expect a Hollywood star to eat a dog treat on live TV, "but you're easy." Replied Aniston, "I guess all German dogs love me now."

It's difficult to hear what Owen and Jen say because it's dubbed in German, but that's ok.

I saw the show last night - the host is a jerk...
anyway, here's a short summary of what they were talking about (nothing special) - I tried to re-translate the German into English (the translators, however, did a poor job translating the English into German in the first place -- please excuse mistakes in my translations..)
H (host): please, have a seat over here J (Jen): alright, over here
H: well, you've been promoting your movie the whole day today - is that somewhat exhausting? In the US the movie is a big hit, but Germany is far away - you still enjoy promoting it? J: it's fantastic and the best part of the job, the traveling, I'd say. We did a movie we like and is loved by the audience, and then we get to go around the world with it O (Owen): you get to go to Paris.. H: I'm happy to see you have time to do a bit of sightseeing - or do you live in hotels and planes only? J: well, unfortunately.. O/J: we went see the church, the dome... O: and then there is some kind of rivalry between the rhine , cologne and duesseldorf (HINT: the rhine is a river, cologne is located on the left hand side, duesseldorf on the other; it's a local thing) J: we were happy to be out of there.. O: you get the feeling people know how to enjoy life in duesseldorf H: a million women dream of walking down the red carpet in a stunning dress at the Oscar's, photographers want that one picture - what kind of a feeling is this? J: well, you know, it's... kind of the best thing that can happen to (her superbowl analogy); it's very glamourous and exciting .... .... H: Owen, we have seen you in many comedies, such as Starsky and Hutch, The Tenenbaums - have you ever thought about playing something "not funny" to win an Oscar for example? O: well, I haven't won a lot of prizes - and I didn't do the movie to get one J: Owen was in this film .... he showed something I haven't seen before - and I wanna see more of this.. H: I really liked about the movie that it shows how things evolve between partners in a relationship - especially when it comes to kids and pets - it's a very emotional movie. J: well, it's about marriage and, of course, about the difficulties you encounter, it's about ups and downs in a marriage, which continually grows .. about challenges you have to face - and, of course, it's about all the funny stuff which happens to you - a true story
H: Jennifer has declined 4 mio to do nude shots, Owen, would you decline that? - too bad she left the magazine with Lettermann where she was shown with a tie.. O: well, I am not sure if there's a demand.. H: Owen doesn't have his tie anymore... J: yeah, I gave mine to Lettermann
H: introduces the trailer for Marley & Me
well, have fun with it... I really enjoyed watching Jen and Owen, even though, as already mentioned, the host is a jerk and asked stupid questions... unfortunately the video is cut in a weird way, so there are bits and pieces missing - but nothing important.

Thank you for the translation LC! It was a lot less exciting than I thought it'd be though. I think there is a demand Owen. No silly tie required.

Ditto...to Remi #iagree# I would stand in line to see Owen....and the fact that he did not say unequivocally no is a very good thing. #crazylove# I second the thank you's LC #bravo# On another note don't you think that maybe Jennifer just wanted to thump the host on the head for making such a remark...how rude was he? #raisedbrow#

yeah, it truly was less exciting than expected... well, the show is very popular in Germany... but the host basically loves to laugh at his own jokes.... ah well.. glad you appreciate the translation, even though it's kind of fragmented
