Maybe I can shed some light on the dumb part. Like the imdb poster said, Meg is very "book smart". That does not necessarily mean she is smart in the ways of the world. Perhaps she doesn't have a lot of common sense, or perhaps she is gullible or naive. I have more than a few clients who are that way....have degrees and accolades up the ying yang, but are dumber than door knobs when it comes to some of the simpler issues. I am constantly asking myself how they earn so much money!  In fact, another example is my boss' daughter...straight A student at USC, but can't find her way out of a cardboard box! At any rate, I assume this is the kind of situation the imdb poster may have been referring to. That's what I meant about there being many ways to be dumb (and smart). I don't see how she could be employed either considering how much traveling she does. But I don't know attorney's jobs. Yeah, I'm jealous of her. In a number of ways.... ;D But Luke seems happy with her, and they seem happy together, and I guess that's what counts. |

If Luke and Elle Woods Meg are happy together, that's all that matters.  Yeah well, Elle Woods had a dog (and was sensible enough to not wear bright purple out on the streets #rolleyes# that purple was so bright, I almost didnt notice Luke becuz of the glare...) |

It's true, SP, that dress was bright. She didn't know she was going to be photographed though probably. It was a hot day in NYC and she wore something cool in an unfortunate color.
About the imbd post, it was probably one of Andrea's friends who wrote it or someone who doesn't like or is jealous of Meg.
They're relationship has gone on too long for it to be insignificant. Luke finds her endearing however lacking in common sense she may be & that's what counts!

What? Did I miss some fugly purple dress somewhere? Point it out to me someone please...
Any how, I have known people who were incredibly intelligent, but lacked common sense. I just say, imagine you are in her shoes. You have a wonderful man in your life, and the whole world criticizing you, it can't be easy. Yes, I have had my fair share of Wilson fantasies, but the reality is I will probably never meet them (although I still have faith in the magic 8 ball). I wish them all of the happiness in the world. Maybe Luke is finally with the one, maybe not. I just hope he and the others are happy.

Startip, here's the dress. As far as I'm concerned, I disliked more the red nail polish than the colour of the dress. I think that red and purple is a bad match. #sick# Maybe she just came from a meeting of the Red Hat Society. To them red & purple match every day! |

Purple looks like a good color against her skin tone. But I agree the red nail paint definitely clashes with the purple.

All I have to say is George W. Bush went to Yale... book-smarts and dedication to education in no way equal common sense. She's obviously an over-achiever in a scholastic sense..but FYI - she has simply a JD Law degree.. and not even from Yale Law! in legal terms that's the lowest jurisdiction and the stepping stone for further schooling. It's the equivalent of being a general M.D. Does she need to be a practicing lawyer or a genius to date Luke?  BTW, I think Pres. Obama has a JD... #donotknow# |

I see nothing wrong with the purple dress. The fact that she's centered in the photo, I think, is what draws your eye to her immediately. The red polish clashes with the dress. However, I don't polish my nails to match everything I wear.

Well, I think it's nice that whoever's on IMBD is cattier than me. Yay!
Also, whatever the "specialness" of the law degree, I agree with whomever said, she's smart enough to be dating Luke. #raisedbrow#
I don't have a problem with the purple dress /red nail combo. It's the fact that it's being worn by a 6 foot blonde dating Luke, that I have an issue with . . . #sigh#

Good point, Remi, about not having to be a genius to date Luke! The imbd poster mentioned that Meg doesn't ask any questions & that goes well w/his lifestyle. I guess she's better off not inquiring about his whereabouts when they're not together. She's better off not knowing I would imagine.

And how do we know this imdb poster is a reliable source of such information? I know everyone hates me when I ask questions but that's all I'm doing: asking! I'm not making a declaration. I'm just wondering what the source of the information is. Edited to add: I checked Barack Obama's resume. He indeed does have a J.D. in Law from Harvard U. He also graduated magna cum laude and was President of the Harvard Law Review. He also holds a B.A. in Poli Sci from Columbia University. He taught Constitutional Law at University of Chicago. He has actually practiced Law. I am not saying he walks on water and heals the sick. My point is only that Meg Simpson - as smart as she may be - is hardly in the same class as Pres. Obama. |

I think we're reading too much into this. It's just the opinion of someone who wasn't impressed w/Meg posting nasty comments on line about her. The bottom line is, they're together & probably don't care what people think. Since I enjoy a bit of gossip, I found it amusing to read an unflattering opinion of Meg since all that's been written about her is how supermodelish & educated she is. The "knock-kneed" comment was funny! It was probably posted by some envious girl who'd like to hit on Luke  |
