I was at the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach last night. Sadly, Owen did not show up. Vince Vaughn and John Favreau were there, though. The comedians they flew in from LA were not funny. Vince and John did a little improv, but I didn't catch most of what was said because of the noise (even though I was very near the stage). It was nice to see them, but I wish Owen had shown up so I could have told him how much I enjoy his acting and asked him to introduce me to Luke! ;D

This is from www.delmarvanow.comStars raise cash for charity By Roger Hillis Dewey Beach received a taste of Tinsel Town on Saturday night when a handful of Hollywood stars descended to raise money for charity. Actor Vince Vaughn hosted the show, billed as the "Outlaws of Stand-up Comedy," at the Bottle & Cork nightclub. Jon Favreau, Vaughn's co-star in the movie "Swingers," also participated, as did a group of comedians who were flown in from Los Angeles. The Memorial Day weekend event raised thousands of dollars for the Army Emergency Relief organization, which helps those who have lost a spouse while on active duty for the armed forces. Bottle & Cork co-owner Alex Pires said the final tally would be announced by Vaughn's agent, and was not available at press time. Lines of people wrapped around both sides of the building, with one person admitted each time someone exited the at-capacity show. Some grumbled that the donation fee had been advertised as $5, but raised to $10 on Saturday afternoon. Peter Billingsley, an actor who portrayed the character Ralphie in the movie "A Christmas Story" when he was a child, popped up on stage between skits to say hello. "You never know who's going to show up in Dewey Beach, do you?" asked Billingsley, who thanked the crowd for supporting the event. One star who was noticeably absent from the proceedings was actor Owen Wilson, who stayed backstage. Wilson asked that his name be removed from the marquee because he didn't plan to go on stage and didn't want to steal the limelight from the organizers. Wilson later spent time hanging out down the street at Venus on the Halfshell and northbeach. "He was a very laidback, nice guy," Pires said. One Cork patron who was disappointed that Wilson didn't appear at the benefit was Doug Gardner of Lewes, who was among those who waited in line for almost two hours to enter the building. Gardner is also the spitting image of Wilson (albeit with silver-grey hair), and various fans approached Gardner and asked if he was a relative of the star. "I'm here because I wanted to meet the guy. Maybe some day it'll happen," Gardner said. "People tell me I look like him all the time." Fans of Vaughn were far from disappointed. After the show, a security guard escorted Vaughn as he walked through the audience and signed autographs and posed for photographs with whoever asked. Favreau also mingled. Comedians included Brett Ernst, Ahmed Ahmed, Sam Tripoli and Sebastian. Tripoli's expletive-laced remarks about minorities and handicapped people brought boos from the crowd, and when he photographed the audience he was greeted by many one-fingered salutes. Sebastian, on the other hand, was the crowd favorite, keeping the audience in stitches throughout his laugh-filled set.
