Both Owen and Luke look so natural and comfortable in these circumstances.
They never cease to amaze me.

Here's the scoop from Entertainment Reporter Alan Peppard at DallasNews.com:
Owen's imperfect pitch
True to his screen persona as an affable slacker, actor Owen Wilson didn't practice a lick before throwing out the first pitch at Monday's Rangers-Yankees game.
Consequently, his pitch hit the dirt and bounced into the catcher's mitt.
But true to his real-life persona, he didn't quit. (The journeyman college student never got a degree but was nominated for a screen-writing Oscar.) Owen asked for another chance.
The second pitch hummed into the glove of Rod Barajas.
"He hangs in there," said his dad, Bob Wilson, with a proud chuckle.

Cute article, Oz. And thank you, Remi, for the photos.
I'm assuming the photos were probably taken of Owen's 1st attempt. I wonder if he's laughing at himself in the last 3 photos as he is possibly returning for the re-"do."
We don't know if Owen practiced in advance or not. Could be his 1st attempt failed because of nerves. Awww....
