Is that really David Soul? ? Man- I know that I am one of the relics on the Board, but WOW, he ain't exactly,"Here Comes the Brides" from the former days! I remember when Starsky and Hutch first came out- hell -- He should be flattered that Owen plays his role!! What a COMPLIMENT, knock off the bitchin' and get with the program...Granted- I'm no new grape on the vine-but if Selma Hayek said, "I wanna play you in a movie"-- I'd say "go for it girl.. Make Me look Like a Mlllion!!" David--- Thank Owen!!

PS-- I do think that it is a great picture with the four of them representing the two characters that will break or make this movie! ---HT

Wow, Fallingleaves! Thank you so much for those behind-the-scenes shots. I wonder what the deal is with Ben Stiller. -- Ordered people to not look him in the eye. That sounds like something out of Zoolander. I've heard reports about Ben's attitude, but I had always assumed it was a joke. He does have a good sense of humor about himself. Did anyone catch him on Curb Your Enthusiasm? Owen looks so laid back in those shots. His posture almost looks like he's reclined

Thanks FL! Isn't that strange what they say about Ben Stiller? I think it's really sad if he really is that precious, you miss out on a lot of good things in life if you carry on like that. It is interesting to think that Ben and Owen are friends, if Ben is such a primadonna but I remember reading somewhere that Owen is very good at working with difficult people (I think they were talking about Eddie Murphy in that instance) and maybe that is why he can work so well with Ben? Anyway great to hear that Owen is down-to-earth and not caught up in the hype. Loved the socks and sandals

I hope Ben isn't really like that. He & Owen have worked together so many times. It would be a shame to think he would do anything to ruin that. After all, even your friends move away from you when you act too much like an ass. Of course we get to hear again how nice & polite O is to his fans. He's one in a million!

I agree about Ben. It just doesn't seem to fit. Owen was his best man @ his wedding! You'd think their personalities couldn't be that different and that Owen would think he was pompous.
Ben was so funny on Curb Your Enthusiasm. He has so much self-deprecating humor that he couldn't be a weenie, could he?
BUT.... now that I think about it, he was rather sour on Dennis Miller Live a couple of years ago. He seemed very serious and sort of cynical. Same goes for Inside the Actors Studio.
BTW - Maybe he doesn't want people looking him in the eye because they have to look down at him and he up at them. A Napolean complex, perhaps? Say it ain't so!

Sorry for the double post... My brother just explained the whole 'don't look me in the eye' thing. He said in production that it is an unspoken rule that you don't make eye contact with actors. So when you are on set and passing by an actor, you don't acknowledge them. He said that some actors are a bit obnoxious about it -- like Tom Cruise and go ahead and make it an official, stated rule. He said he hoped it wasn't true about Ben Stiller. The deal is that when an actor is trying to concentrate, learn lines or stay in character, it is distracting to have to acknowledge some well meaning crew member that is making eye contact. It's not meant to be rude or diva like. I guess some actors are a bit more delicate He also mentioned that he once stood next to Ben Stiller in line and that he was surprised at how short he was.

That makes sense Lib. I know I read somewhere that just before shooting a scene Ben was seen to be chanting to himself over and over - do it, do it, do it - so he obviously has to work hard to get himself into character and a lot of his characters are extreme and his performances are intense so yeah - I can see that maybe he wouldn't want to get ready to scream and shout in a scene and have someone go "Ben, hey how ya doing?" and have to calm right down and go "Hi, I'm good, you? This is very OT - but there is an interview with him in this weekends US Today Magazine part of the S&H promotions etc Click Here to read the interviewIt does make it sound like he's pretty uptight nevertheless or to look at it another way, very private - which he's entitled to be.

Well I think that Ben is probably really jaded just because there has never been a time in his life when he wasn't kinda either in or around the limelight. That's hard on kids. That's why he does such a good job of shielding his little girl. Good for you Ben
