so, I always click on the "you me and dupree photos" and "Super Ex photos" threads when there is something new, but something just occurred to me. I think seeing so many images from a movie before its even in post production really ruins the experience of going to the theater to see a film. If I'm being honest, I really didn't enjoy Wedding Crashers that much, and I think its cause I'd seen so many tiny bits of it before even walking in the theater., and I couldn't just watch it with fresh eyes.
I want seeing a film to be an experience, and its hard to just be effected when you're thinking "oh, I saw the behind the scenes making of this scene on entertainment tonight."
I guess its just part of how a certain style of film* is promoted, but I don't like it.
I'm going to try not to look at behind the scenes pictures and clips anymore... until after I see a movie that is.
*That's not a comment on the quality of these films, just on the genre, meaning a certain style of comedy or some family pictures as well

Zero, it sounds like you're expressing something the Theatre has always known; that part of the magic of theatre is in not seeing the actors before the play. That is why everyone connected to the play is traditionally kept well-hidden from the audience.
I like seeing the production photos before the movie; seeing them hasn't spoiled the movie for me at all. Maybe that's because movies aren't theatre - they're not live. Or maybe I'm just unusual.
I'm curious if anyone else has had the same experience with photos you have had.
Thanks for posting your interesting observation.

I agree with you completely! I saw so many pictures and clips of the movie that when the theater was laughing out loud, I wasn't. I had already seen those parts several times and it just wasn't that funny to me anymore. I'm looking forward to watch the DVD since I haven't really seen anything "Wedding Crashers" for a few months. I'm glad you think this, too, zero. People usually think I'm crazy when I mention it.

I can see your point Zero. But, I'm too tempted to see the photos and clips that are out there before the movie hits the theaters. For me, I look at it as enjoying the movie for longer than just the 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. in the movie theater.
I really hate when they show all the best parts of the movie in the previews or clips though. I thought they almost did that with Wedding Crashers.

Sometimes it ruins the surprise. sometimes they build up your expectations of what the films is going to be then it is the opposite. Then sometimes they put in bits that don't even appear in the film. Case in point........Big bounce. I do like seeing the photos. It makes you interested as to what is going on and makes ME want to see the movie more

100% agree with you Zinc...I was just saying the other day that I am no longer excited about Super EX 'cos I've seen so much photographic footage of it already. Never blimin' happy are we? Moan if there's a Wilson drought, moan some more when there's just too much ;D ::Stands::In my defense I am a Lukaholic, its a disease for which there is no cure (hopefully)I am weak and cannot help myself looking.

Sylcia, I'm with you on this one. I am far too curious not too look and feel that the bit I find out 1st make me want to watch a movie more and enjoy it more. Plus the fact that if there is a Wilson involved I just gotta look! They are far too fine to not look...

Myself, I actually can't get enough pics and info about a movie Before it opens............ then afterward, I'm ready to move on to the next project! But, I find, if I were to just go into a theatre and see something "cold turkey".......... I just am so excited that I can't even digest it enough to remember what I saw!! That's what I hate so much about George Lucas and Star Wars........... not enough pre movie hype!!!!!!!!!
