Hey everyone...one of my best friends gave me a late birthday surprise wednesday night. She took me to this bar (that we've been to before) where this blues band was playing. I have to tell you it was INCREDIBLE!! I am absolutely in love with the lead singer/keyboardist. He is blind and absolutely amazing. 
Anyway, so we were drinking and drinking and we went outside to have a smoke and i was talking to the lady singer and the bassist and i told them i thought they were great and my friends with their big mouths were like..."ITS HER BIRTHDAY and SHES A BLUES SINGER" so they said happy birthday and i said thanks and blah blah. so we go back inside and all of a sudden the incrediblly beautiful,talented Danny Kean with his Owen blonde locks and blue eyes started singing happy birthday.
OH MY GOD when he sang my name i melted. but wait....it gets better I look over while he is singing and my friend sabrina is talking to the lead female vocalist and im thinking "Oh man i know what shes doing and im gonna kill her" all of a sudden Danny Kean says in the microphone "Diana, your friends want you to come up and sing a song!!"
I was so drunk!!! I was covering my face i didnt know what to do.
The entire bar filled with about 40 people started cheering and clapping and of course i couldnt be a chicken and i didnt wanna kick myself in the morning for not doing it.
But i couldnt think of a song to sing. my mind went completely blank. I mean, i didnt rehearse, i never played with them before, i didnt know their style,i was so drunk i forgot the words. i went up their COLD. I decided the only song i could remember at that moment was At Last by Etta James. (my singing teacher calls that my theme song!)
As soon, as my hand touched that mike i was in my element. i felt a rsuh like i neevr felt before...unfortunately i was so drunk that i couldnt feel it completely so that was disappointing but i got the 1st 2 verses down then i forgot the rest but Danny picked it up and did a duet. Then, i got to the end. And i kicked that songs ass.
Ebveryone was cheering and clapping and the look on my friends faces were priceless. they still cant get over it. my friend Ellen called my mom at like midnight and told her what i did. she was so excited!
Its the best feeling in the world. But im very mad at myself because i know i could have done better.
My friend was asking everyone that walked out of the bar what they though of me and they said i was great. and the bassist picked me up in the parking lot and twirled me around.
I'm absolutely in love with this band. i later found out that they are huge on long island. And Danny ...who i though was about 30 is only 22....he is remarkable. I am going to see them at all of their shows from now on. here is the website. you guys should check it out..

I am in love with Danny Kean. Seeing someone up there who is so talented and so beautiful makes my heart melt. I cannot stop thinking about him. AND I GOT TO SING WITH HIM!!
