First time I ever heard of Showtime was in the 1980's. Andy Gibb appeared in a play that was shown on Showtime, and I was so miffed that we didn't get that channel. (It's a premium channel.) I wonder if it might be available on dvd now. The play was titled Something's Afoot. I'll have a search for it.

I just finished watching STARDUST. True, the only reason why I watched stardust was for Henry, and I was rather dissapointed with the size of his role and the weird colour of his hair. Stil, HOT HOT HOT! It was a nice movie. Michelle Poofpoof and the guy who played the seventh prince, septimus were awesome as the villians. I liked Claire Danes and Charlie Cox (esp. with the new 'do). Claire's glowing was WAY more impressive than Deadward's(ahh...Twilight...again!). Robert DeNiro, was as uaual, brilliant! I love the way he winks at Humphrey towards the end. . Ricky Gervias and the ghosts of the princes who were hanging around were really funny. Hmm...Henry played a character that shares his name with my dog (Humphrey). I know, you'll say its coincidence, but if y'all don't mind, I'd like to use words such as 'fate' and 'destiny'. Anyway, now, to the important part...pictures! 1. Ben Barnes, who plays Tristan's dad (young), was geekized to an alarming extent. But you can never, ever de-sexify those who are born to make hearts flutter... 2. My Henry, like I said, bad hair (actually, good hair, that doesn't suit him much. Nothing can beat his gorgous dark locks), stache doesn't suit him, but he's MY Prince Charming anyway, even if his movements may seem rather stiff. Lucky Sienna Miller... 3. Charlie Cox. Classic zero-to-hero transformation. Robert DeNiro's loving hands made the character and the hair so much more likeable...

I adored "Stardust"! I think my review is somewhere on this thread. I thought Robert DeNiro was a scream! I never would have recognized Henry now from this movie though. I'm so glad you refreshed my memory! I can't wait to see him in Tudors! And any future projects he might have (please keep me updated)! To anyone who hasn't seen "Stardust" yet, it's like a little bit darker version of "The Princess Bride". If you liked that movie, you'll probably enjoy it!

I saw The Kingdom on dvd tonight. This political thriller begins with a quick overview of the history of the West's relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and opens with a terrorist attack on a colony of American oil employees in Saudi Arabia. Jamie Fox, Chris Cooper, Justin Bateman, and Jennifer Garner star as FBI agents sent to investigate the attack. Most of the movie follows their investigation, climaxing with a heart-stopping attack on themselves. Though the movie ends quietly, the irony of the matching words spoken by victims from both sides of the conflict is more chilling than any battle could be. It does NOT end with a "Rah-Rah Americans!!" - which may disappoint those who are looking for such an ending. In fact, I see no evidence of American "arrogance" or triumphalism anywhere in this film. The Saudi officer in charge of aiding the FBI agents dies a hero. I heard this movie was very popular in Saudi Arabia, interestingly enough. This action-packed, you-are-there, documentary-type movie may be too intense and realistic for comfort. DEFINITELY NOT FOR KIDS. May not even be suitable for a lot of adults. After such intense drama, I'm ready for something funny and totally silly. I think I'll see I Love You, Man tomorrow. That sounds pretty good.

Thanks Remi. I'd forgotten you had already reviewed this movie. Sorry.
I thought it was interesting how different our reactions to it were. I agree that, at the end, it was unrealistic in the sense that it's highly doubtful all of the Americans would have escaped alive if in that situation. What I thought was realistic was the violence itself.
Sorry I messed up the name, Jason Bateman. I must have been thinking of his sister: Justine Bateman. DUH!

Well, it may be a lot to ask for, but the kind of love that they had for each other in the Notebook is what I want. I don't mean the fairy tell stuff, but that they stuck together through hard times. I want to be married forever like my grandparents were. I just have to start making better choices in guys. I am ok with the idea that that just may not be in store for me though and I may be single for the rest of my life. I really just wish I could get you know who to give it up and realize that we will never be a couple again and that we can't make each other happy. Oh yeah, Oded Fehr is freakin hot! Is he in the third mummy movie at all? I have to go pick up my son in a bit, maybe I will hit a redbox and see if they have any copies of the third Mummy movie. Yes everyone wants a love thats forever, but you have to stick with the one you have and be there and never say or do things to hurt them. If you do your just really hurting yourself in long run. Some couples that are having hard times can make it better by just trusting in one another and riding it out. At the same time not always looking for someone other than who your with to give you comfort. Look to your husband or wife or whatever it may be, for your love and you will find that love you seek in them if they love you the least bit. We run and look else where to solve our problems when the answer has always been right there staring you in the face. Love is a funny thing but if you have someone that loves you for real, than always work it out. If not the love your looking for you'll never find.

I saw I Love You, Man today. Paul Rudd plays a realtor - a conventional Mr. Nice Guy - engaged to be married but finds he has no real guy friends that he can ask to be his Best Man. So he sets out to have "man dates," to find a suitable friend for himself. He does find such a guy - an unlikely friend - played by actor Jason Segel. This movie could be considered a sort of Frat Pack film: funny, sophomoric humor and having a cast of mostly thirtysomethings. The plot unfolds in a totally predictable way and ends predictably sweet but it's still a likeable film. There are some very funny parts in it and others that are a bit uncomfortably embarrassing to watch. Overall, light fun comedy based on a clever, somewhat plausible premise. Paul Rudd fans will love this; he's just adorable. Jason Segel is a newcomer to me but I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him based on his work in this film. I hope so. www.imdb.com/title/tt1155056/fullcredits#cast
